The story behind the Fugu Crew
The Fugu story began in 2021 during a family fishing trip to Bynoe Harbour.
While they were in the area, the family decided to look at a few properties. During that trip, they found their own 32-acre piece of paradise in Dundee Downs and began a new chapter of Territory life.
Still enjoying their fishing trip, they headed out to try the boat ramp near their new property. It was only about five minutes from their back door, which is a pretty good location when fishing is one of your favourite ways to spend a day.
That day, they caught a huge puffer fish. It was the first puffer fish they had caught while fishing in the Territory, and it quickly became part of the family story.
A puffer fish is also known as a Japanese fugu, and from that memorable catch, Fugu’s Dundee Downs NT and the Fugu Crew were born.
It is a fun name with a genuinely local story behind it, and it fits a brand created around Territory life.

Clothing made for Territory conditions
Fugu’s Dundee Downs is not simply clothing with a Territory name printed on it. The apparel is created and tested by people who live the lifestyle represented in the designs.
Their backyard is the Dundee and Bynoe region, where days are shaped by the weather, the water and the outdoors. Clothing needs to be comfortable enough for the heat while also being practical for work, fishing, boating and life around the property.
The Fugu range covers everything from sturdy cotton drill work shirts to lightweight vented fishing shirts designed for the hotter months.
The full-colour cotton drill work shirts come in shades that are easy to spot across a worksite, including hot pink, forest green, cobalt blue, orange and Bynoe grey. They are practical workwear with far more personality than the usual plain shirt.
When you want something lighter, the vented fishing shirts offer another option for hot days, time on the water and outdoor adventures.
There are designs for adults and children, along with clothing suitable for work, weekends and everyday wear.

Boardshorts, ruggers, hoodies and local designs
The range extends well beyond shirts.
Fugu’s Dundee Downs also offers boardshorts in distinctive prints including Aussie Camo, Real Cam, Bynoe Grey and Pink Vibes. They are made for the Territory lifestyle, whether you are heading out on the boat, spending the day near the water or relaxing around Dundee.
You will also find cotton ruggers and hoodies, giving you a few options for those cooler dry season mornings when the temperature drops just enough for locals to start reaching for an extra layer.
One of the popular local designs is the Darwin to Dundee range, available in both adults’ and kids’ sizes. It is a great pick for locals, regular Dundee visitors or anyone who knows the familiar run between Darwin and the beach.
The local designs also make excellent gifts. If your visitors want to take something home that genuinely connects them to their time in Dundee, a Fugu shirt is much more useful than another souvenir gathering dust on a shelf.
You can browse the current range and order through the Fugu’s Dundee Downs NT online store.

Custom clothing
Fugu’s Dundee Downs can also help with custom designs for crews, clubs, work teams and families.
Whether you need branded workwear, clothing for a group or have an idea of your own, have a chat with the Fugu Crew about adding your artwork or logo to their NT-tested apparel.

More than clothing
The Fugu stall is also a useful place to pick up some of the practical extras needed for life in the Top End.
The range includes mozzie and midge repellents, tropical skincare and Cinnabalm sticks. They are the kinds of products that are easy to forget until dusk arrives and the insects suddenly appear.
Good Riddance insect repellent is among the products stocked by Fugu’s Dundee Downs, helping you prepare for evenings outside, camping trips and weekends near the water.
Stock can change, so check the online store or stop by the market stall to see what the crew currently has available.

Find the Fugu Crew at the Dundee Beach Markets
One of the best ways to explore the range is to visit the Fugu’s Dundee Downs stall at the Dundee Beach Markets.
The Fugu Crew is at the markets every Saturday from Easter through to the end of September. You will find them there from 8 am to 3 pm, set up under the palm trees on the foreshore in front of the Dundee Beach Tavern.
Visiting the stall gives you the chance to look through the different designs, check colours and sizes and see the clothing properly before choosing your favourites.
It is definitely worth heading down, saying hello to the crew and grabbing yourself a shirt. You might go for a quick look and leave with a work shirt and a tub of repellent.
While you are there, you can browse the other market stalls, grab something to eat and enjoy the easygoing Saturday atmosphere near the foreshore.
Market dates and other activities happening around the region can be found on the Dundee Beach Life What’s On calendar.

Catch a Fugu pop-up around the NT
If you cannot make it to Dundee on a Saturday, keep an eye out for one of the Fugu’s Dundee Downs pop-up stalls.
The crew occasionally takes the range to events and locations around the Northern Territory, giving more people the chance to browse the products in person.
Because the locations and dates change, upcoming pop-ups are advertised through the Fugu’s Dundee Downs social pages. Follow Fugu’s Dundee Downs NT on Facebook for pop-up announcements, new designs and current product updates.

Get yourself into some Fugu gear
Fugu’s Dundee Downs brings together colourful clothing, practical workwear and products chosen for real Territory conditions.
There is gear for work, fishing, boating, weekends at Dundee and cooler dry season mornings, with adults’ and kids’ options available. Add in custom clothing, plus insect repellents and tropical skincare, and there is plenty to discover beyond the shirts.
Get down to the Dundee Beach Markets, meet the Fugu Crew and have a proper look through the range. It is definitely worth grabbing a shirt while you are there.
If you cannot catch them at the markets or at a pop-up, the Fugu’s Dundee Downs NT online store is open year round.
