Dundee Beach is one of the Territory’s great escapes, but it’s important to remember that we are a long way from major medical services.

Heading Out on the Water?
Fishing and boating are a huge part of life in the Dundee region. Before heading offshore, make sure you have the appropriate safety equipment on board and that someone knows your plans.
Consider carrying:
- EPIRB (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon)
- Satellite phone or reliable communication device
- Life jackets for all passengers
- First aid kit
- Plenty of drinking water
- Emergency flares
- Current weather and tide information
Conditions can change quickly, and mobile phone coverage may be limited once you’re away from shore.
Be Prepared
Whether you’re visiting for a weekend or call Dundee home, a little preparation can make a big difference. Save emergency numbers in your phone, know where your nearest medical services are located, and always call 000 if you’re faced with a serious medical emergency.
Living and holidaying in remote areas is part of what makes Dundee special. Being prepared helps ensure everyone can enjoy the region safely.
